YOUR DAY AT THE ACADEMY

You will report for duty at 8 o’clock sharp.  Remember you’re relieving the guys from the previous 24 hour shift and they want to go home!  You’ll be issued your turn out gear and shown where to stow it on the truck.  Training starts immediately.  You’ll be facing real fires, learning how to use the Jaws of Life, manning the 2 ½ or repelling a three story building…all in a days work.  

You’ll be with real firefighters at all times to assure your safety.   The Firefighter Adventure supplies all the safety gear necessary.   You’ll be issued a turn out coat, boots, helmet, BA (air pack) and gloves.   Additional apparatus such as repel harness is also supplied.  

When your Saturday shift is over you’ll head back to your hotel for a much needed rest.   Be sure and have a guest meet you at the firehouse for dinner at 6pm.   A day with a fire crew isn’t authentic without good ol’firehouse cooking!
